This should be something I know but I cannot think of how to do it. How do you program numbers and names into the My directory and the Ext directory 5000 series phones?

I believe that is your speed dials. "My" would be your station speed dials, "ext" would be system speed dials, and "int" would be just the internal directory. At least thats what I gather from playing around with my IP5131 sitting on my desk.

I believe RRino is correct. My = Personal speed dials, Ext = system speed dials, and int would be the names as programmed on the phones.

The user guide may have a couple differnt ways to enter these, but with names, personal speed dials are programmed by the phone by:

Enter #9876
Press the speed dial key
Press a speed dial bin number starting with 100
**If you get an error tone then you may to get your dealer to program some speed dial bins for you.
Enter a phone number (HINT; enter a line access code like 9 first)
Press the speaker key.
Enter a name using the dial pad, simular to text messaging
Press the speed dial key again to save.
-"Data Programmed"

Hopefully I said this correctly. Going by memory without a guide in front of me.

If you are able to program system speed dials (by default nobody can) you can start with speed dial number 200-999.

An alternative way to ener speed dials is to use the code #66, but I do not believe you can enter a name using this methode.
