I have a system giving me fits with incoming calls. If two calls come in simultaneously one call will show up flashing on the phones and can be answered normally while the second call will go directly to voice mail, the light goes solid red, and nobody can answer it. If the calls come in so the first call rings on the phone and then the second one rings, both can be answered. The system has CID and does not actually ring the phones until the CID data shows up on the display.

Below is the equipment and the way I have it set up. We did up grade from a GVPH to an LVMU and then had to upgrade the processor afterward. The existing version apparently was not compatible with the LVMU.

Equipment: CIX100
PCBS: slot 1 --BDKU/BDKS 16 digital ports
slot 2 --RCOU3/RCOS3A
slot 3 --RCIU/RCIS
slot 4 --LVMU 4 port voice mail

programming: Voice mail pilot #=555
voice mail ports=501-504

Multiple call group 1
Pilot #=301
Members are 200-204,206-209(all digital extensions and set to ring immediately)and 555 (vm pilot #) set to ring delay 1 (25 seconds).

As soon as 555 is removed from the call group, the issue goes away. Simultaneous calls can be answered with no problem. Anyone have any ideas? I reinitialized the system today thinking that maybe that would help...several hours later I finally have every thing working again except my original problem is still there. Thanks for any input.

I did notice that the MCGs would do that sometimes. I did not think about the cause of it until just now. My guess is that it is probabaly assuming that a ringing phone is busy, and goes right to the delayed ringing extension entries.

You could leave out VM pilot and just use the System call forward timer, although you are stuck with the one timer.

MCG's have caused issues from day 1 of CTX and still cause problems on later software.
In the meantime have you checked fb31 on station assignments DKT tab? It determines the state of the handset depending on call and button set up. (Read the flyover for details). You may need multiple line appearances?

It always bugged me that an icoming CO call will ring on the Intercome key when using an MCG even if you have CO line appearances.

In this case I think Otternose is talking about putting multiple DN keys on the phones. I have seen other companies use multple DN keys even with CO lines on the phones. I always thought it was a waste of a button, but they may have done it due to this issue.

By Multiple line appearance I just meant show the external lines individually rather than by a pooled line key or no line keys. If call button jumping (fb26) in system data is on/off does it make any difference?
I know in the UK Tosh Tech support came up with a work around by setting a system call forward from 1st MCG to 2nd MCG and put the voicemail in the second MCG. It works for most scenarios but seems a bit "clunky" to me.

Ottersnose-I should have told you, the system has 6 co lines w/CID and each line shows up individually on every phone. I have never used the system call forward feature so I'm not sure how to program it or what to point the call forward to. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi With Multiple call groups 2 simultaneous calls in will result in Immidiate members ringing for first call. Second call in will drop to delay 1 member based on the fact immidiate members are classed as busy (ringing) hence second caller going to voicemail.

They are not great for over square working i would suggest applying a system call forward on no answer to the mcg which goes to voicemail with whichever VM ID you require

Ok mate so do you have Network Emanager?
If so you will need to create a new system call forward template and set it up as a forward no answer to 555 and remove 555 from the multiple call group 1 delay ring option. The no answer delay is a system wide setting set in system timers. Don't forget to activate the sys call forward!
Retest at this point and let us know the result.
If you don't have Network Emanager you will need to call in your maintainer or local Tosh expert.

Why not use a PhDN and DIT the trunks to it? You can put a station call forward on the PhDN with whatever timer you like.
