Hey All,

I have a DK280 with 17 incoming lines, all of which are analog.

We have probably 130 phones, most are analog but we do have maybe 20-30 that are digital phones.

My question is, can we switch our incoming lines to be digital? We received a quote on getting 17 lines through our cable company and we are considering switching, however these will be digital so I am unsure if they will work.

Thanks,
Tyler

DK280 will support T-1, but I'm not sure at what software level.....

Don't forget that you will need the appropriate card in your DK280 to support these digital lines!

A digital phone line from your cable company would be a T-1 or a PRi requiring an RDTU or an RPTU card and it would be a two pair RJ45 connection.

That said, if it is a Time Warner salesman they don't have any idea what a digital line is from an analog line from a clothesline.

Time Warner brings in a cable connection to a digital box and outputs ANALOG lines MOST of the time.

Since you have 17 lines and maybe they are not Time Warner, they may be talking about a T-1 breaking out into analog lines.

Without a forklift upgrade, you would be just as well off, assuming they are giving you one heck of a deal, having them do a T-1 to analog lines and not mess with the Toshiba.

I will PM you my cell number and maybe you, me and the salesperson could do a conference call and see what they are trying to deliver.

Be assured, if you demand better than what they offer for three months, etc, they will roll over and play dead and give it to you to get you to sign. Don't go for the first offer and be a sucker. Remember, this is a cable company, not your best friend.
