Greetings.

Just want to start off by saying this site is a great ressource for my Toshiba CTX issues I've had over the years, and always find myself looking here before anywhere else! Keep it up.

Now on to the fun stuff.

Company I work for is using a Toshiba CTX. We have mostly DKT phones, save a few users with IPT. Recently we had to reassign a user (outside sales rep) to a different extension and used the #6041 to route his calls from the IPT to his cell phone.

It's been reported that when an employee calls the receptionist and asks to be transfered to his extension, it rings back to the reception after a few seconds, however when dialed directly the forwarding works fine.

The user of the IPT used the #6041 + [Cellphone#] + # + 10 command, so it should ring 10 seconds on his IPT then transfer onto his cell.

The issue I have is when a call is transfered from reception to his extension, there seems to be an auto ring back timer to reception on not answered call, which I would like to make longer. Basically just wondering where that setting might be.

Thanks a lot smile

There is a Ring Xfer Recall Timer in Station Assignments on the Timer tab.

Hi RRino!
(nice catch by the way smile )

Thanks for the quick reply.

I suppose you're referring to the "07 Ring Xfer No Answer Timer" which is already set to default value of 32 (seconds). I had checked that area already.

Is there another setting somewhere that takes precedence over the station assignment setting? Server side maybe although I doubt it should affect the station.

Thanks.

Hi Steve.

"DSS Override Call Forward" is currently disabled, so it should be forwarding calls.

Thanks.

Update:

Just asked reception to transfer me to the IPT extension, it rings for 25-30 seconds then gives me a busy signal.

I did not change any settings.

Calling direct from my phone to his extension works fine.

First, DSS override should be disable. This is a way for the recection to override call forwarding wen pressing a DSS key, which effctively cancels call forwarding.

Now the issue seems to be that an outside caller can not get transfered to another outside number. Off the top of my head there are two possibilties.

1. In COS Tandem CO is not enabled
2. You have a PRI and the system is sending out the caller ID of the incoming call, and Telco is blocking the call because of the caller ID.

UPDATE

I probably should have mentionned that from the get-go.

We are using 3 CTXs throughout the company.
The IPT is on CTX 1 and has enabled #6041 locally.
When transfering a call from CTX 1 to IPT, it works like a charm.
When transfering a call from CTX 2 and 3 to IPT, it doesn't.
The CTXs are on different segments (10.10.x.x) in each location.
I need to be able to have the #6041 on the IPT phone transfer calls from any CTX transfering a call (be it inside or outside) to work.

Thanks.

Found a work around using flexible buttons.
Programmed a button for CF - B/NA through the CTX and let the user set up his call forward locally.

Issue resolved.

Thanks to those who tried to help, I know I wasn't all that clear and helpful with my comments at times. Not all that familiar with phone systems.

Issue not so resolved after all...

There is a funny situation going on right now.

So calling extension directly forwards the call, whatever CTX we're calling from, but as long as it's inside the company.

I tried calling the receptionist at a different location and asked her to transfer me to the call forwarding extension... just rings, then goes to a busy signal UNLESS she stays on the line in which case it transfers to the cell phone. When the outside sales guy picks up, she releases the call and connection is made.

Could this have anything to do with what newtecky said:

.

I could probably ask the receptionist to hold on the line when transfering a call to that extension, but it sort of defeats the purpose of call forwarding...

Thanks.
