I was on site Friday doing a batch of programming for new people being added to the system when I had an emergency call and had to replace a twenty year old system.
Years ago I would modem into CIXs but haven't needed to do that for a long time. I would like to web in from home and I set the IP address on my computer to auto and opened Windoz and typed in the IP address I use on site but it is not logging in so I am missing something.
I downloaded CIX200_670_R_MT061.ZIP assuming that is the software I would use but didn't want to screw up what I have that is known working good and can use if I make the short drive there.
Can you give me a hint on what I should be doing?
Thanks, Bracha

So correct me if I am reading this wrong.
You are trying to remote into a customers CTX from home? If you are then you will need to set up some port forwards on their internet connection UDP161 and UDP162 and point them at the IP address of the CTX CPU. Don't forget to assign the IP/Subnet/Gateway address correctly for the customers site.
Then in NeM you need to use the public WAN IP address for the customers internet connection that you did the port forwarding on and it will work.
Have you done any of that so far?
Let us know how you get on.
Regards Carl

There was a remote set up previously created and I have that IP address which was successfully used.
What I don't understand is the steps for getting in. On site I just set the local IP address for the CIX and click on eManager and click on the correct customer.
I created a new client called BB web in with all the IP info, etc. I tried to connect with my IP set to get any address to go out and the connection failed.
Now I am trying to understand what I am doing wrong.
Many thanks, Bracha

Many other problems could occur via WAN.
There could be AV/security running and blocking traffic to/from the IP or the data packets for the port forwarding (just had a customer who had theirs block an IP phone audio path even though it registered fine)
Check that you can log in via a public static IP at another customers or your office for example, then you know it's nothing wrong with your local machine's setup or AV/Security software.
Try to put the CIX processor ahead of everything on an unmanaged switch directly into the ISP router, to avoid any internal LAN problems/conflicts
