I have just put a phone system in a metal shop. They have one main welder that really messes up the phone system when they use it. Everything is grounded and line conditioned (as far as the phone system and paging equipment). Anyone have any ideas?

What kind of system did you install
If it is a DHS it will probably always have problems being in the welding shop enviroment.
You can try grounding all unused pairs and moving the phoones that are near the welding machines.
GOOD LUCK

Have you read the tech sheet on RF on Sandman's website? www.sandman.com He indicates that with welding machines---chances are that you can overcome it...but it will be expensive. At least you know what the interference is. Good Luck.
