We have a Vodavi Triad system and were hoping that there was a way for one station to send an alert to another station by touching one key and perhaps incuding a text message in the display. We are trying to address a situation in which an employee needs assistance with an upset person in their office. That is why one key activation is important. We want something the employee can do surreptitiously Ideally, a flex key could be programmed to send an alert tone to a particular station where the other employee would know to look at their display and it would have a message like "FRED NEEDS HELP"...Is this even possible?
thanks

The only thing that I can even try to attempt would be to use an empty trunk port, assign a speed bin with 911 in it. Enable the 911 attendant alert feature for the station that will cover the other extension. That way when someone is needed they can push the co port that will inturn activate the alert to the station. Sounds good in theory - I think it will work. Anyone else have any other ideas?

thanks for the idea-I am guessing from what you say that assigning a speed bin with 911 will not actually be dialed, that 911 is a feature for notifying the attendant to call 911? ![[Linked Image from sundance-communications.com]](https://www.sundance-communications.com/forum/smile.gif)

Phoneschultz---please complete your profile---it allows us to see in what city you are--and allows you to receive e-mails from the various installers. I have some instructions that work on a Comdial DSU---but I don't know whether or not they work on a Vodavi Triad---but it may help you think of something that MAY work,--using the Triad messaging system.
Assist Button This feature allows a station user to program a button to be used for sending a message to an LCD speakerphone. Once programmed, the station user can press the ASSIST button at anytime to sound a tone burst at the called station and present a preprogrammed message in the station display. The user can send a message while on a call without alerting the distant party. This feature is useful for requesting assistance while engaging on a call. For example, a customer service representative could request assistance from a supervisor while talking to a problem caller. The supervisor, upon receiving the tone and noting the display message, could perform an executive override or service observing action to join the call or monitor it. If you have preprogrammed an ASSIST button on your telephone, you can use it to send a message to your supervisor, asking for assistance while you are on a call. Your message shows in the supervisor's telephone display. · To send a message for assistance, 1. Press ASSIST button that you have programmed. 2. Press DSS of the telephone user you need help from. (This is not necessary when the desired extension number was stored along with the ASSIST button programming.) 3. If the assisting telephone is idle, a ring burst sounds and a message appears in its display. If it is busy, the message appears when it becomes idle. To program an assist button, 1. Press INTERCOM ** 1. 2. Press programmable button you want as assist button. 3. Dial 7. 4. Dial * to choose system-provided message. (System message = "ASSIST" plus name or extension number of station sending message. Name or extension is automatically added by system.) -OR- Dial 0 -9 to choose preprogrammed message (see attendant for list of messages). 5. If one particular station must always receive message, dial extension number of that station; otherwise, press SPEAKER to end.
