Working with a client that moved a 1224EX. Phones are not ringing. CO buttons light up - just no sound. Tried to get into the programming to reset the DB and it refuses to go into programming mode when I enter ON, ** (get rapid tones here) LOAD.

Sounds like something not right. How can I do a full hard reset of the system?

Thanks,

Allen.

Make sure you are trying to attempt programming from ext 10.

Already checked that first. Been there, done that.

Seeing that it was not working on Port 10, was the prt that had me stumped, as its always worked that way on other 1224EX's.

Yep.

Everything works normally except for incoming calls not rings (audibly). The CO buttons light when a call comes in but no sound. And no it is not the phone set.

You've got me stumped too about the programming, if you are indeed on ext 10 and you can access lines on that set, it should let you in. I would try punching down an extension directly to the block on ext 10 and remove the bridge clips from the other remaining stations. That system is known for doing wierd things when a data pair is reversed. As far as the ringing, have you made sure the top volume knobs are turned up on each phone. Forgive me if this is insulting your intelligence, but as you are new to the board and judging from your profile it looks like you lean more toward the software and TAPI side of things and its' hard for us to determine the experience level of who we are dealing with. You may want to give a little more detail to avoid the "Simple" questions. Was the system just moved, Are none of the phones ringing including ext 10, is the station 10 in DND, etc. and you said you know it's not the phone but how do you know? Tell us what steps you have taken and the results and we may be of some more help.

Another simple and obvious question but have you tried a power down and restart. This can sometimes clear issues like this.

OK This goes in the stupid file.

Original installer labeled the telco cables wrong and we put them back together according to the labels on the cables. As soon as we swapped them back the way the are supposed to go all became wonderful.

Never assume... Never assume... Never assume...
