Hey guys. My company has 15 lines, and for some reason on the STSe when i program flex buttons for co's...everything after CO 5 is not what it should be. For instance, 123-4567 is at CO spot 10 when it should be at 5, and CO 8 has no dial tone indicating no line at all. I definitely have all the numbers punched down correctly...any ideas on what the problem could be? Should I change the CO ports around through the system? Any tips would help, thanks.

Sounds to me like someone went in using flash 42 and moved the physical ports around. I would check there before I start moving jumpers around.

Is it possible that the 25 pr cable is not punched down correctly? Do you have the Primary colors going White,Red,Black,Yellow, Violet? In your post you said everything after 5 was mixed up, which makes swapped wiring plausible, but then you said 10 showed as 5. Anyway, won't hurt to double check the 25 pr jumper terminations.

Hmm..in flash 42 all the CO's are correct. 1234 / 5678 / 9101112 etc. I was wondering if I NEED to change that in order for the CO's to be in the correct places. Also, the 25 pair is definitely correctly punched down. Weird phenomonens seem to happen to me when I install these Vodavi systems..whether for a client or for our own company! Usually, through the excellent help of Vodavi service reps we can figure things out but there are still other troubleshooting issues that were not gone over in classes... thanks for the inputs and further assistance would be invaluable. Thanks again!

It seems as if you know what you are doing and looking for second opinions, so let me go out on a limb here and ask a painfully simple question. Are the line appearances, a.k.a. buttons programmed on the sets in the proper sequence or are you relying upon display information?

My next question is, have the line ID's (names) been changed that might be throwing things off? Is this an existing installation you have assumed or is it one of your own?

Lastly, have you tried downloading the database of the KSU into WinDBA puke so you can look at things in a portrait rather than in a snapshot?

I have never had anything remoteley similar to what you are encountering in over 200 STS installations. As tacky as it sounds, I will ask one last question laugh have you tried initializing the CO line parameters, or better yet, the entire database?

If you're sure all wiring is right, I'd check to see if the phone number on position 5 is the number you want it to be. Don't see how it can be programming as 5 and 10 are on different flex buttons. I'm betting wiring.

I have to admit, I've never expanded an STS to a second cabinet but while looking for an answer for him I noticed the second cabinet LCOB says to start in slot 11. Does the expansion cabinet not provide 4 CO's without adding a LCOB? Anyway for what it's worth the LCOB's on the main cabinet should be in in slot 1(Built in),5, and 6 giving you Lines 1-12 and in slot 11 in the expansion KSU giving you lines 13-16. If all else fails post exactly how they are showing up eg 1,2,3,4,10,5,etc and maybe something will become obvious. Sometimes we can't see the forest for the trees smile

No, the expansion cabinet doesn't provide anything but slots, unlike the main cabinet that provides 4 x 8.

Wow thanks to everyone for their support! Now this is going to sound really stupid, but for some reason the LCOBCC cards were defective. I popped 2 new ones in and wallah~ all the CO's were alligned as they should be. I guess something must happened to the batch of cards I had ordered? In any case, problem solved. Again, thanks to everyone for your input!
