Well, I'm almost embarrassed to tell you what fixed this. At Vodavi's suggestion I initialized the ICLID tables, that's all it took. Should have been the first thing I did when I had the problem. Oh well, I'll be a tech someday.

I would not have ever thought to do that either, in fact it would have been my last resort.

I wouldn't have thought of that either but, when you did the upgrade and the upgrade was complete to you initialize and upload latest .dnl file?

This should be done on every upgrade, here is what i do and i think Ed will back me on this
1. pull download
2. upgrade software
3. Default by throwing dipswitch 8
4. upload the download that you pulled

That way everything was defaulted.

No that's not the way I did it. I just followed the update procedure in the Vodavi manual. So I would like to see if others do it as you stated. Thanks for your input.

I never did it that way before. However, I will now.

Just this last weekend I updated our system to 1.1. It seem to work fine all weekend. Then Tuesday (Monday was a holiday) I called in to check messages and the auto-attendant wouldn't answer. It would just ring twice and drop the call. You could dial out and answer the back line with no problem.

Since I was over an hour away, I had my wife reboot the system, which didn't help. I then had her flip the firmware switch which took it back to 1.01 firmware. Still didn't help. Fortunately, I was able to VPN into our network, default the system and then upload a backup. Everything started working fine after that.

Of course my backup wasn't up to date.

In other words, Good point Oobie!!

Hey if y'all say that's the way to go, I'll sure bow to your experience. oobie, why not put that to Vodavi and see if they will include it in their upgrade practice? We've obviously now had two different cases where an upgrade caused a problem.

I have never trusted an upgrade on any system without a complete erasure of the current database. The procecure that Oobie described is the only way I can walk away knowing that I did it correctly.

I sent this link to the Vodavi tech I worked with. Maybe it will give them some insite on the upgrade steps. At any rate I felt it would be good to share with her.

That is the way i always do it. As Ed said it makes me feel alot better knowing that i initialized everything. I do this on Both the STSe and XTS/XTS-ip platforms.

I hope that this helps in the future.
