The telephone system is a Vodavi Starplus SPD 1428.
I want to be able to have any call to an extension ring 3 or 4 times roll to another extension ring there and then roll to voice mail of the first extension.
The voice mail is an second market brand call Lingo set up in a UCD.
Anyone have any ideas?

It depends upon the version of software your system has to actually program call coverage. Instead, you can just forward the first phone on no answer to the second phone. When the second phone isn't answered, the call will go to the first phone's mailbox. Are you familiar with activating/deactivating forwarding?

Thanks for the response Ed, I'm not really a Vodavi person. I inherited this customer from a Vodavi dealer that left the area.
I believe the system is Version 3.4N-3FE5, does that look right? I did forward the first phone to the second and that works fine. It just doesn't go to voice mail after. Any other ideas?

Make sure that phone B is no-answer forwarded to voice mail by dialing 640 + 7440. If you still can't get that to work, your software will allow the use of the call coverage feature.
I would suggest placing a call coverage button on phone B for phone A. At phone B, press the speed button two times, press any unused flexible button, dial 646 plus the extension number for A. Then, press the on/off button to end programming.
Then, at phone A, cancel the forwarding you activated and re-forward it to voice mail by dialing 640 + 7440. The default ring delay timer for call coverage is 5 seconds, so phone A will ring five seconds, then phone B will also ring (the button you programmed will flash). If not answered at either station, phone A's original no answer forwarding to voice mail will take over.
The software is just about the most current that is available.
