I am an Operations Manager of a Cabling Company. We do not do Phone Systems but have to do our own maintenance on our Vodavi STS. Our system is simple Three Lines with No VM. I wanted to attach an external paging speaker to it so I could hear my page in the ware house. I purchased a Bogen AH5A Amplified Horn and Power Supply, hooked it to the V/O of the second block and dialed 761. Nothing. I check and made sure the stations had access and still nothing. Am I missing something or should it be this simple?

Put a buttset on the v/o, dial 761 and see if you hear it. If you do you're getting out of the system and you can concentrate on the speaker wiring.

That should do it. When you say "second block" are you talking about the CO Line block? What happens when you put a buttset on the VI/OR pair? Do you hear the page then?

Try hooking up vi-or./ or.-vi on the top amp.cable of the ksu. From your description, you are on the wrong amp. cable.

That's a good point STSE. As nfcphoneman and you both point out it's the CO block which is the top amp connector on the KSU. So second block could mean he's on the station block as you point out. Thanks
