I have had 2 customers in the past week that i had went out to that said they have static on all lines. After trouble shooting the only time i have static is on incoming calls. Both customers have the same carrier but two different configurations. The one customer just has 4 POTS lines resold to the CLEC provider, the other has POTS lines off of a Multiplexed cable network but the same CLEC carrier. Both systems are vodavi, 1 STSe and 1 DHS. The site with the resold POTS lines i was able to reproduce every time on an incoming call to a Buttset connect to the Test Jack at the D-marc, the other site with the STSe the static is so light with a Buttset that you almost cannot hear it but when connected to the STSe when the caller calls in and gets put on hold it actually cuts the MOH out and sometimes sounds like a non-existant radio station. I replaced everything at the STSe site, cabinet, cards, MOH unit, and even defaulted the system to see if it was something like a corrupted path or something so then i took a Verizon POTs line and called into it and boom worked fine. Have any of you gurus seen anything like this? Just looking for something that i can tell the carrier when they get back to me.

Wow, that's a good one. I have seen some bad STSe and DHS KSU's that cause static on the line(s), but a replacement usually took care of it. I will ask around here to see if anyone else has experienced this issue.

If they are the same carrier in the same location it could be an issue with teh lecs pairgain system. Possible bad card, I have had cards in a slc go bad and only produce static on inbound calls..half teh time the lec checks for dt but never receives an inbound call..so you get a no trouble found... just a thought.
I Swear I did not touch anything
