Hi, we have 4 lines on our starplus phone and the fourth is a fax line. I have been putting the phone into DND mode so that callers will first hear a message telling them to enter an extension if they know it before being routed to the operator, but all of a sudden we aren't receiving any faxes. Could it have something to do with the DND mode? And if so, how can I fix it?

Thanks,
Kaya

It sounds like your installer didn't program the fourth line to ring to the fax in the day, night and special modes. My guess is that they have the auto attendant picking up that line when the system is in the night (DND) mode. You'll need to have them correct this, since we aren't permitted to give out technician-level instructions here.

Before you call anyone out, test it for yourself during the day by putting the system in the night mode with the DND button, then call the fax number. If the auto attendant answers, then that's what the problem is. If you hear a fax answer the call, then it may be an issue with the fax itself. Try that and let us know what happens, then we can give you more definitive direction.

Ed, when I dialed the fax line, it went to the fax... could it be anything else related to the phone or does this mean its the fax?
