Recently had two workers locations switched with each other, so I am trying to switch the extensions between those 2 phones, currently they are:
ext 109 (3011-71 phone) ext 102 (3015-71 phone)
I simply want to reverse it to:
ext 102 (3011-71 phone) ext 109 (3015-71 phone)
The manual says dial 636 then the extension to switch. This does not seem to help. I keep getting "out of sync". Any insight or should I just tell the 2 people that moved they have new extensions...

More than likely, the system's "station lock" feature has been activated in the system's database to prevent dissimilar phone models from being swapped. Doing so will mess up the button programming on the phones.
When you did the 636 feature, you did have the other phone unplugged at the time, didn't you?

I have already gotten past that point, I do have both phones up and running in the right physical locations, they just have the wrong extensions.
I can make do with this, but it would be a much happier place for me if I can get those extensions reversed.

What Ed is saying is that one of the phones has to be unplugged when you do the 636 move. In other words unplug the current extension 102 go to 109 dial 636 102, the display should blank out for a second and come up 102. Then go plug in the other phone and it should now be 109.

Yeah, I am doing that, it is not happening. On the display phone i get LKD 30D which I assume means locked. Any way to unlock it?
Let me try to add a part to this
I have two phones to reverse the extensions of:
ext 109 (3011-71 phone) location 1 ext 102 (3015-71 phone) location 2
I to change it to:
ext 102 (3011-71 phone) location 2 (or get rid of 102.. either way) ext 109 (3015-71 phone) location 1
i have the phones in the right location, but the extension is still wrong. Now let's assume I can get rid of ext 102. Any help there?

LKD30D is the Phone model.....Just the fact that you are receiving that message leads me to believe that the station lock is enabled.
Swapping extensions is easy, just make sure the other station is unplugged. If it is not taking it, my guess is that station lock is enabled.

Station ID Lock Description The Station ID Lock feature provides a means for the installer/programmer to lock the station ID of all stations in the system. After locked, attempts to plug unlike devices (e.g., a DSS into a 30-button port) results in the device not working. This feature is designed to prevent loss of station programming that results when a different station type is plugged into a port already designated as another station type. To change the Station ID with the Station ID Lock feature enabled: 1. Enter programming mode and disable the Station ID Lock feature. 2. Plug the new device type into the jack. The set is automatically identified. 3. Enter programming mode and enable the Station ID Lock feature.
