We have a Vodavi Starplus 96EX analog system. Lately our callers have been complaining that our voice volume is too low and they can't hear us. Only changes made recently is we had to install a new KIB and a new SIB card in the unit. Have the same COB board; could this be the problem? Do we need a COA board for audio enhancement? Doesn't seem likely since the voice volume was fine before. It just seems like the problem started about the same time we had to replace the boards. Any ideas would be appreciated. Any way to test this out? frown

In a system that old it is hard to tell what could be causing the problem. Make some test calls right off the CO in the MPOE & see how they sound. You could try swapping boards.

Does the problem clear if the boards added are removed?

I'll do some testing and get back to y'all. Thanks for the suggestions so far. I'll welcome any other suggestions as well.

When testing volume complaints at the MPOE, I like to call a local 1kHz db testing number. My test is pretty dumb. If the tone hurts my ear, the volume is good. No need to get out the equipment.
