If I replace the CPB Board on my Vodavi 96EX system, if I have Dip Switch 8 turned off (initializes the database), will I lose all of the database programming I have done? Is the database programming stored on the CPB board or in the system itself? I want to have a backup CPB Board already programmed in the event I have to replace it in the future.

Thanks for any answers I get.

Actually, turning switch 8 to the on position and resetting it will erase all programming. It should always remain in the off position. Oh and yes: All data for the system is stored on this card, not in the system.

If you are concerned about the database, just obtain a database print. The system is simple to program. Keeping a spare programmed CPB is unusual. I wouldn't trust the memory support battery for more than a few months anyway. Except for lighning damage and dead batteries during a power outage, I have had very little problems with Vodavi CPUs.

I thank you all for the informative replies. I didn't know about the battery. Just trying to be prepared. Haven't had any problems to date.
