When an external call comes in to the AA and then is transferred to an extension, the line rings here in the office, but the caller does not hear anything. There is a long pause (while the line is ringing 4 times) and then either the party answers or it goes to their VM. How do I make the ringing audible to the caller?

That isn't a pause, the caller is just placed on hold and the they receive silence during this time. Music on hold is one solution for this. Also, depending upon the system you have, ring back tone can be programmed. We'll need to know what system you have and the software level in order to assist further.

The model is Starplus STS. The software question is a bit of a problem. The guy who set this up for us is MIA. So I, as the designated rep for the office, try to figure these things out on my own, but I have very limited knowledge on the system itself. The User guide that came with the system is July 2003 issue 1.2 P/N 3552-00

Station user guide isn't going to help. If you have an installation programming guide the feature is ringback on transfer and it needs to be turned on in admin programming. You may need a tech to walk you thru this one.

Ringback on Transfer is programmed in Flash 06.

Ok. I have the install prog guide on CD. I found the ringback on transfer section referring to FLASH 06 and I understand what to do once there. I also have the admin password. How do I get to/use FLASH 06. What does that really mean. I am sorry for the ignorance here.

You make the changes in flash, using the ADMIN PROGRAMMING.
Derrick told you this in previous post.

Flash 06 is the keystrokes to get to a group of features including ringback on transfer.
