Hi all,
My customer has a DHS with Dispatch Voicemail. When I call in to leave a message I get the response from the mailboxes "The system disk is full and your message cannot be recorded."
Has any come across this before? Is there a way I can check with Admin software the message count and length of the mailboxes in the system? Or could it be my gut instinct that the harddrive is failing. I did have to reset the dispatch about a month ago after it had locked up and noticed that that it sounded labored when it was rebooting.
Going there monday morning, all comments or suggestions appreciated.
Thanks

People are not deleting messages and/or your log files are getting hugh. You can look at the logs thru admin and find out message counts but it is a line by line search, there are no idexed reports available.
Make sure that there are no boxes with notify turned on and calling itself...this mistake can eat up a lot of message space.

I agree. Many of my systems out there have to be purged of log files every year or two. The log files do become quite huge due to the amount of information stored that really isn't necessary.

Thanks Guys,
I will check that out on monday. When I connect to the system through Admin where can I find the log files and how do I purge them?
Thanks again

Admin will allow you to view the logs only. You can run a report by Day, start and end time. It does not sort any other info. The logs are under setup-advanced.
To delete logs you need to use ecom or hyperterm and then use typical dos commands to change directories and delete files. This has to be done very carefully. If wrong files are deleted, then the system will no longer operate.

After deleting all the old log and dump files with the assistance of Vertical Tech support, even though we freed up alot of space, the dispatch kept locking up when we called it.
Have decided to replace the hard drive today and should be able to get them back up and running.
Your suggestions were spot on, I think I was dealing with a bad hard drive all along.
Thanks again

A defrag is always worth a shot too. I always pull the HD and perform defrag as a slave on another PC.
