I am the IT Manager for my company, with a little experience working with telephone systems. We recently added a PRI card to our Vodavi XTS version 2.23-3FE3 telephone system. We also added DID numbers at the same time. Everything seems to be working very good except the Caller ID information is not complete. I am receiving the caller's telephone number and it is being displayed on the LCD screen of each telephone, but the caller's name is NOT being displayed. We have a telephone vendor who has worked on this problem for a couple of weeks, but with no luck. We have contacted the telephone provider (Charter Communications) to ensure they are sending the Caller ID information with each call. They tell us the information is being sent, but we still cannot view the caller's name on the LCD screen. Does anyone have any ideas?? Any help would be appreciated.

IF you program a Caller ID button on the phone,

SPEED button twice
touch an open button
dial 653 for Caller ID you will hear confirmation beeps
hit on/off button
Touch the button that you programmed for Caller ID and that will activate the NAME/NUMBER function of Caller ID.


If that does not work make sure that you are getting the Name sent from the carrier and not just number.

I forgot to mention that we do have Caller ID buttons setup and active on each of the telephones. I did program the button as you mentioned, but still no name with the Caller ID information.

I have made 3 or 4 calls to our carrier (Charter Communications) to verify the Caller ID information is being sent. They did some type of testing to make sure the information was being sent. During the testing I had someone call my DID number. Charter Communications was able to tell me the number and name of the caller, so I think the information is being sent. Any other ideas??

Flash 41 button #9. If you can't do system programming you'll need to have your vendor set it up.

Deltron...that did the trick!! Thanks so much!! I looked in my Vodavi manual and did not find the FLASH 41 Button #9 anywhere....I have the Triad XTS System Programming and Operation Manual Version 1-1.....is there another version available?? If so, where can I get it?

We have another problem now....the caller's name is being displayed on LCD screen of each telephone, however the caller's telephone number is NOT being displayed. Since the caller's telephone number was displayed before I made the changes to get the name displayed, I was expecting to see both the caller's name and telephone number. Is there a way to display both at the same time on the LCD screen??

If you have a CID button and flash 09 programmed correctly both name and number should now be available. Remember the CID button has to be lite for the phone to display both name and number. It that still doesn't work, make sure your pri trunks are programmed for ANI/DNIS not DID.
