We are going to be biddig a hotel with app. 140 guest rooms plus the back office and front desk stuff. This would be replacing a very old mitel. This would be our first hotel/motel project although we did bid one a year or so ago. We proposed an XTS with a lot of SLIB cards for the analogs along with a DuVoice voice mail with all of the hospitality features. We were told that DuVoice was a standard in this part of the game. Has anyone out there done a project like this using the XTS platform and if so how did it work out? I am pretty sure we can be less expensive than a new Mitel. Also what type of SL phones? Teledex? Thanks for any feedback

Any SLT will work, but remember that the XTS doesn't offer most of the hotel/motel features, so you are going to be heavily-reliant upon the DuVoice to offer them. Make sure that it has enough ports to handle more than just routine voice mail/auto attendant functionality. Also, make sure that you provide plenty of DTMF receivers in the system. The flexible numbering plan will permit you to mimic the single or two-digit codes for features and services, but aside from that, it is just a regular key/hybrid system.

thanks for the info. What is troubling is that there will have to be 3 components here: the XTS, the DuVoice and a call accounting system. Thats a lot of links in the chain. I have heard from a couple of vodavi dealers who have done this with the 3 pieces and while it works, its analog integration so its slow. Also their is no mechanism to change the name of the room occupant so the front desk knows who is calling. I have also heard that the Wave does have a hotel/motel package in the box that does it all. We are not a Wave house and given that Vertical now has a requirement for training in Az, unlikely we will become one. Thanks again.

Why not give PhoneSuite a call? I think TransTel also has Hotel/Motel packages. Not trying to talk you out of the XTS I just think there may be other options for you.

What about the new SIP trunking integration? That should greatly improve the integration of the Duvoice and an XTS fP4.

SIP trunking integration would be great and its on the table. I am just waiting to talk to a dealer that I know has lots of experience with the DuVoice product with XTS. If he says that his intalls work well with it, then I will go forward with it. Justbill, thanks for the other names. At this point, on a project with this many phones and apps. (pms) I would like to stick with something I know relatively well from both a hardware and programming standpoint. Has anyone used SIP trunks on the XTS fp4? If so, how did it work. Thanks for all the input.

Not to kill it, and I of course do not know your pricing scheme, but coming against Mitel, Phonesuite, or any other tailor made Hotel/Motel switch with an XTS, a bunch of analog cards, and with VoIP would likely price you out, at least it would in my market.
Phonesuite and Transtel are made for this type of application where you need a solid product that is value priced, plus you do not have to worry about all the potential integration issues, only integration with the PMS. Also, the call accounting is built in and the PMS integration is a cinch.
