What does networking software provide for you? We have a multi location system with 1 location without networking software. Should we pay for the software upgrade?

Networking software will allow you to put a LAN B card in the system (daughterboards required) and to tie one or more sites together with a 4 digit dial plan. A static IP address is required as is a high speed internet connection. Once installed and programmed, communications between sites properly equipped and programmed can be accomplished by making "intercom" calls. Depending on the sw of the XTSc systems, there is excellent functionality across the network. It all depends if this is worth it to you as to whether you move forward on it. All systems on the "network" must be equipped with LAN B cards and networking sw for this to work.

Networking also allows a PRI point to point and I prefer it over VoIP. Call quality doesn't depend on QOS and isn't affected by congestion. Networking enables most of the system features to be transparent. What is most notably lost is the HF intercom (it only rings) and VM Record from a centralized VM.

Thanks. Do you know any dealers in Atlanta and/or how much this software might cost.

You can go to Vertical.com and request names of authorized dealers in your area. Due to the added technical training, only Gold and Silver dealers can purchase it and obtain support. However, prior to this reply, I checked my latest price list and don't see that exception listed at this time. Remember, in addition to the software - and you need to purchase s/w for each system - you also have the added programming labor which can vary depending on your requirements.

Dave, cant the XTSc be purchased and installed by a Bronze dealer? Not that it matters as the XTSc is discontinued. We were a Bronze and did the XTSc.

TJ, if I remember correctly, Bronze could sell XTS, but only for single sites.

I don't think that the bronze, gold dealer thing is now in effect. However certification and authorization is still required.
