I am having some issues setting up this XTS system to use a PRI connection currently in use and working fine with my DVX Plus II system. My XTS PRI card programming as far as I can tell looks Identical to my DVX PRI card. I did some monitoring and found that I have logged a yellow alarm today during testing. Anyone know what a yellow alarm indicates?

A yellow alarm is put out by the far end to tell you it's not receiving a signal.

Are you using a PRI/T1 combo card with an older XTS? Older XTS use separate cards. Combo cards are for later systems.

Off the top of my head, I think the KSU needs to be a certain IRS revision level and running at least FP2 for the combo card to work. Combo cards also have issues with soft switches.

My PRIB card is just a straight 8031-40 PRI card. Based on my 3000-00 KSU markings, it looks as if it is an ISS:1 REV: 1.4 MY MPB2 card has 2.23Ver software. I am using an ADTRAN T1 CSU ACE in conjunction with the PRI.

The yellow alarm during testing is quite normal. I'm not sure if your PRI actually works though. Is it working and you're just concerned about the yellow alarm? If so, I'd just clear all of the alarms and see how it operates.

More important to you is the LEDs on the PRI card itself. Under normal (idle) circumstances, the bottom (clock) LED should be the only one lit. Is this the case?

I know the PRI works because it is currently hooked to my DVX Plus II phone system. This XTS will replace it once I get this PRI card working right. Along with the bottom LED; Led's 7 & 4 were lit the last time I had the XTS hooked up to my PRI.

I am not sure an 8031-40 will work. The part number for a standard XTS pri, not a combo, card is 3031-40. The 8031 is the Triad 1/2 part number. Not all cards carry over to the XTS and the PRI may be one of them.

The 8031-40 shows up as the only PRIB part no. in the XTS install manual I have. It is the same part no. card currently in my DVX system as well. I must be missing something else. I will keep trying. I welcome any suggestions.

There are not that many parameters you have to worry about just to make the span work. I have done a direct switch from an Avaya Majix to an XTS and the PRI came right up.

System has to recognize the card...
ISDN parameters have to be correct.
NI2...NI1 is not supported
ESF
The rest of flash 45 page a should be default.
Same for page B

If all that is correct you could have a bad card. Have you frogged cards from one system to the other?

I double checked all my ISDN parameters and they seem to be OK. I did end up trying this XTS PRIB board in my currently working DVX system and it worked fine. Switch settings on PRIB board are as follows: sw2 enabled, sw3 off, sw5:1234ON. I think Sw5 calibrates the cable distance away from the network correct? With the PRIB card disconnected from the CSU, leds 2,3 and 7 are lit. Connected, leds 4,7 and 8 are lit. Just grasping at straws here; what is sw2 switch next to the battery on the MPB2 board do? I couldn't find a description for it in my manual. it's currently set to on. Thanks for everyone's help so far on this.
