Hey guys,
I was approached today with a situation that is a little over my experience, and I'd like some feedback...

A location that I administer has a PRI with DID (40 numbers). However, someone inadvertently (or ignorantly) posted their DID number as a company number on a few directory websites, and it made it into a printed Telephone directory. Now, they are having company calls coming directly into a support person that should NOT be getting those calls.

So... They've asked me to make that number a non-DID number and assign a new one to this user.

The system is a Vodavi Starplus, cabinet is an 8000-00 (not sure of anything beyond that).

I'm not worried about implementing a fix (I'm familiar with programming a variety of systems), but I was looking for feedback about approach and best practice before I waste my time mucking around with bad ideas.

Suggestions?

Just find the route being used for this number in flash 44. Then, go into flash 43 and change the ringing to go elsewhere.

The last two or three three digits of the DID usually match to the route the call is taking....the route usually matches the station that number rings to. And it repeats for each hundred series did number. For example xxx3101 goes to route 101 which has ringing to station 101. Did xxx3501 also goes to route 101 which rings to station 101. This is by default and can be changed. The route and the ringing are located in flash 43...the number is attached to the route in flash 44 programming.

Ok, it's been a while, but I'm finally getting around to doing this...

Quick question though. I've gone through the manual, and understand how to change the Route Destination in Flash 43, but I'm unsure of how to set it to ring to the Attendants. My understanding of the setup is that my Attendants (there are 4 attendant stations - Stations 107, 140, 142 and 143) are part of Attendant Group 0 (the default Tenant Attendant Group?), but I cannot get Flash 43 to accept the assignment the way the manual instructs it to be entered.

Ideas? Am I going about this wrong?

I'm assuming I should NOT target the attendant station directly (or the secondaries would not ring properly).

Thanks for the help.

Ok... update.

I figured out part of my problem (I think) - it seems that the system is using a Hunt Group for actual Call distribution to the 4 attendants (i.e. all four stations are Attendants, but also listed in hunt group 451).

That's good - I targeted my moved DID number to that Hunt Group, no big deal.

HOWEVER... one of the other items I was checking on is why not all of the Attendant stations ring on incoming CO calls. I checked, and the Hunt Group was set to Pilot Ring - I changed it to Pilot Ring All, but no difference - only the first station rings (I can't test if it will forward if busy/DND/etc, they are in use).

Ideas?

Co ringing and DID ringing are not the same thing at all. CO ringing is for analog pots. If you are using did it has to be done through flash 43 programming. So set the route of the number to ring to a ring all hunt group or set the route to ring to all the individual stations. You enter the ringing the same way. Button 1 followed by station number plus the digit 7 or hunt group followed by 7
