I happened to be browsing the Jonard Industries site. They have a pair of pliers, https://www.jonard.com/jonard-ecommerce/control/product/~category_id=NOSE_PLIERS/~pcategory=PLIERS/~product_id=11008
that says they are for crimping 700, 701, and 702 connectors. I have never heard of these...what are they?

Thanks in advance,
Jeff

Jeff:

They were very similar to Scotchloks and made by Western Electric/AT&T. They were more square in shape than the round design of Scotchloks. Only the 709 series connectors are still made today and that product line was taken over by Thomas & Betts several years ago.

I have the 709 connectors (Thanks to Ed) but had never heard of the other kind. Thanks for the info!

He may be thinking of the two tools that were made for the 710 splice tool.

One was a five pr with a special tool crimp that you could cut the 3M wafers if needed to fit it.

Oh, He want's scotch locks.. Sorry

They come in 26/24 22/18 and right down to 14 gage.

They even make a 12 Gage scotch lock weatherproof.

Scotch lock rules.
