I got a call last week that a user suddenly was unable to retrieve voicemails from their mailbox with a plain STS and an analog Dispatch by pressing one. When she pressed one, somehow it is dialing somewhere. I got into her voicemail box remotely, but didn't see any settings that may have been changed and the same thing happened to me when I dialed one. Someone picked up but couldn't hear me, although I could hear them. I believe that she accidently dialed some mystery code and changed some setting. I think I saw this issue some years ago, but don't rmember the cause or the fix.

I've seen this occur (the missing one) with other generations of Vodavi systems. Since the STS shares the same programming that many others have, I am not surprised. Strange things happened, but never what you are experiencing. In most cases, a reboot of the KSU resolved the issue, although there were some where we had to do a complete default of the system in order to fix it. A download/upload of the database didn't work, since the bug followed it. I wish that I had better news.

It may not hurt to check something else too. What if there is a bad DTMF receiver on the analog port? When you get to the site, test the analog station port attached to the VM by trying to dial station 111 or 101, etc. Also, what happens if you access the mailbox from an outside line and dial 1 as the owner?

Thanks guys. The user is the only one having the issue. I wonder if she changed some programming by dialing a code wwhen she thought she was dialing an outside number.

When you hit one have you tried dialing 3 to see if it erases a message? could be a weird message that got left in the mailbox and I have seen this happen lots of times. When you hit 1 to retrieve messages immediately hit 3 to delete.
Let us know.

oobie, that's what it was. Thanks. I am trying to figure out how that message could have been left in the mailbox. Maybe it was from someone who thought they were talking to someone live and didn't know they were leaving a message.
