Hi Guys - I have a new customer who has a basic Triad-S (according to the part number on the KSU 5000-00) and four out of the 8 ports on the 3X8 card are giving me "12 BTN LCD-D" on the test phone. Obviously the phone is not bad because it works on some extension ports. Does anyone know why this is happening? I was told that everything was fine up until a few weeks ago. The phones are Infinite. Also, one of the ports that is not working is X100. I have not worked on a Vodavi system in quite some time. Thanks!

I would say that either Station lock is turned on or you have a bad card if the phone works on some ports.
Can you connect to it via hyperterm?

Right. You can't mix & match station types when station lock is turned on. If you check station admin programming, you will see what station type to use for those ports. If you don't know how to get into admin, just plug a different model phone into the "non-working" ports to see if they come up then.

Hi Guys - I have a tech out there now, He says there is no RS232 connection and all phones appear to be IN 10471 12-Button Telephones.

Ok Guys - Here is the skinny....there was one 24-button phone on site and apparently the ports in question were set up for a 24-button set, this is why the 12-button didn't work. Extension 100 is bad and nothing works on that so we moved the lone 24-button set to the front desk and crossconnected it to X107, it works fine. I guess in the future we may need to replace that 3X8 card...but all is well for now. There is no RS232 jack, so it seems that we cannot program using hyperterm. I believe we actually need to program on X100 if the need ever arises, in which case the card would need replacement. Kudos to you guys for your insight and thank you very much!!
