I replaced a Phone System & VM in a theater, the old system allowed the user to prerecord a show times menu, ahead of time. Then call in remotely to set that menu when show schedules change. Can this be done on Dispatch ?

Yes it can. One way to do this is the following: You would need to have admin access that is password controlled and then change the voice line programming to play a different menu..any one of 300 of them. But this procedure takes some care otherwise you will shutdown the vm and not be able to call back in.

If I understand what you or talking about, I could build a alt. main greeting which has the alt. sub-menu to be changed. When you change the line programming, does the system reboot a that time?

Yes. When you change the voice lines (ports) to be answered by a different menu, the system will do a reboot after you make the change.

to avoid constantly rebooting the system, have it answer with a mailbox that is preconfigured to forward to a menu. If I remember correctly, when user forwarding a mailbox to a menu, it auto selects a menu that matches the mailbox number. Therefore, just set up menus that match the mailboxes you will forward the pilot mailbox to.
It's a little tricky to change the mailbox forwarding remotely when the mailbox state is set to "Not play greeting" bit I distrust the constant rebooting of the Dispatch HD.

Continuous rebooting makes me a little uneasy as well. I'll look at both options.
Thanks
P.S. I do have a 8 Port PC Based Pathfinder, don't know if it is more robust or not, and I can't find docs for it.

The mailbox state is a good idea Dave. Just forward the lines that plays the times and titles to a virtual mailbox that plays a greeting then forwards to a menu. The greeting can be really short and silent allowing time to enter Star key when you want to change the menu it forwards to. You can do this on the fly without a reboot.

To expand on this topic, the customer is interested in changing the Main Greeting (Menu 100)for snow days, submenu (Menu 104) movie times, submenu (Menu 106)movie schedules, this being do either on site or remotely. Is it possible to do this though call forwarding to menus ???

Its possible, but for that many menus I would do it through vm remote admin and just change the voice line programming to play the menu you want.
