Hello, recently our phone system went down, assuming due to construction in the building although no one can say for sure. What we do know is that all programming was erased. I am having to have someone come out to fix basic functions, but he suggested the internal battery was failing? It has been around 3.5-4 years we have had this system. Does anyone know who to contact to have this issue looked at/rectified? It was hard enough just to track down a tech to fix the functions. I wasn't aware the system was that ancient! We have a Vodavi Starplus STS system?Thank you!

Actually, the system isn't ancient at all. It just went out of production earlier this year. I'm sure that Vertical's dealer locator would put several authorized dealers in your reach in no time.
Anyway, replacing this battery isn't an easy task and certainly not something that should be done in the field. While it technically can be done, it is much better to exchange the KSU and reprogram. The original one can be bench-repaired and ready for the next customer.

Right, I understand all of this, and starting at the top of the list and calling Vodavi techs got me almost nowhere in the Irvine area. I would replace the battery, or whatever was told was needed, if I could actually find someone to do it. I spent a few hours calling numbers on the tech locator page, but turned out most told me they no longer were in business/no longer worked on Vodavi/no answer/wrong number. If I had someone to call, I would...which I guess, in essence, is what I am looking for...

Since it has been over a month since the original poster came here for help, I'm assuming that the problem has already been resolved. I hope that they managed to find someone to assist.
