Which Vodavi system and which voice mail? There are literally dozens of them, just like car models. The more information that we have, the better we will be able to assist.

It is Starplus STS - I need to add voicemail to two new extensions. One is a transfer from a current line, the other is a totally new voicemail box.

The Vodavi Flash VM and the Hard Drive VM systems are different, but both require you to have the Administration password to create new mailboxes. However, it is possible that you may have the desired mailboxes by default. What happens if you dial 440 from the new phones? What prompt do you hear?

We were able to set up the greetings but it says that the mailbox needs to be programmed (outcall)

I was able to get into the mailbox administration. It says the boxes we need are set up - but when I call that extension, it rings and rings - never goes to voicemail

2 methods: Via phone system admin to program station pre-set forwarding -OR- user call forward.

To use station user call forward for no-answer forwarding, go off hook to obtain internal intercom tone, dial 640-7-440. This will work for most Vodavi systems.

Note: The No-Answer forward timer is preset in the admin database.

Ok so that worked for one phone. But the phone that was originally Ext 105 is now hooked up to line 104 - I assume I need to reprogram the phone as 104 somehow?

You can use the station relocation code... make sure there is no active extension 105, then go to ext 104 and dial 636105 and the number will change. 104 and 105 flip numbers.
