I have a customer that I have supplied 2801 single line phones for an XTS. They want a higher end single line phone. Can anyone recommend a single line phone that will light the message waiting light on the XTS?

People (mostly hotels) like the product made by Teledex. Solid phones.

They are looking for something different than a hotel phone. It is for office use and they want more features.

The 2801 has a message waiting lamp. If it is not working something is not programmed correctly.

If your customer wants an SLT with lots of features, I suggest looking at the Aastra line.

The Message wait works on the 2801. They just what a better phone. The Aastra line is 9110,916LP,9120,PT-470 and PT-480e?

I bought the Aastra 9116LP but the message light didn't light on the XTS. Is there some option I'm missing?

The only option is to make the station id SLT with msg waiting light. In other words if you had an slt with a light before that works and the Aastra light does not work....then either the phone is bad or not compatible with the XTS.

Yep, the XTS doesn't offer much in the way of options for MW lights on SLT ports. The set must respond to the industry-standard 90VDC message waiting voltage.

Some phones (and I'm not sure about Aastra ones) have a switch on them to allow the MW lamp to work on the second pair of the line cord, rather than being bridged across tip and ring. Have you checked this?

I will check for second pair. Has anyone used Aastra on the XTS? Did it light the Msg waiting light?
