Paetec bought Allworx outright for 25mil, they have taken away a few small customers of ours on the backend of bringing dialtone in. They must be offering a lowball price/package to get them to sign up for services... They also sell Cisco, Avaya.

Paetec sells the equipment on their "equipment for services" package. The services part is the dial tone and the equipment is actually a lease that is rolled into the dial tone payment. The deals are not bad, but honestly usually the customer could do better by getting a separate lease and dial tone.

AT&T is doing it in Atlanta area. I lost a customer two weeks ago to them. AT&T installed Nortel VOIP equipment for customer. I'm sure the work was done by subs, but they all identified themselves as AT&T.

That's standard practice. I've worked as a sub for many, many companies over the years. You never identify yourself as a sub contractor - always as the contracting company.
