Yeah talk about variations!

The Northcom 1A3 was OEM'd by Nitsuko for North Supply Co. (now Sprint/North Supply) and really was the same thing as the TIE 612.
and Tie had different names for it as they sold to Bell Co./Independants{Merritor 612),Interconnects (Businesscom) and there own dealers (Ultracom).

The software was written by Vodavi before they split out on there own.

The Tie systems did not have a music on hold jack on the side of the KSU, but the OEM 1A3 did.

If you knew what you were doing you could go into the Tie KSU and solder in your own jack for MOH.

Now North Supply did have another system that used cards for its setup but I only saw one once and that was a long time ago.

These systems were all made in the late 80's I wonder why aanybody would still have one?

Believe it or not I still service a couple of EK-612's and a couple of MOD Key 16's.
One of the EK-612's is in a lawyers office, this guy is so tight he squeaks when he moves.
The others are all in Boy's and Girls clubs.
