This is a straight up install. It's a 2 pair system. Connect the DSL filtered side to the switch. 800 numbers are virtual, they target real phone numbers so you may have 4 lines to deal with.

How many individual lines can this system support? there is an abundance of pairs on what i think is the input. now the CO lines on the side of the box is the distro to the individual phones?? or is this the input? im still trying to find about this system so i have a good idea on how to install this. Im more of a handyman than a pro installer. Thanks!

Take another look at those manuals, unless all you've got are user guides instead. The 6 lines go in on the modular jacks on the side, and the 12 phones come out on the amphenol connector on the other side.

WOOT, that is the stuff i really needed. I had a thought that the CO was the input. so that will do me well. and the 12 lines that come from the connector can be put into a punchdown block to connect the individual lines. question. do i need to run cat5? or is this standard 2 wire?

Cat 3 will work fine, you can use cat 5 if you want, it's up to you. Yes it's a two pair system.

The Northcom 1A3 is almost identical to the TIE EK-612, except 1A3 also has music on hold. You can even use the TIE phones with it, but not the ModKey 60080 series.
