Wondering if anyone has a Cortelco Millennium manual PDF or better yet a copy of "Millennium Assistant"? It is the administration software for a Cortelco (now called eON Communications) Millennium.
any help is greatly appriceated!

I have worked on the Millennium extensively for the last 12 years. I will email you a Millennium manual, but I do not have any information on the Assistant. We actually developed a better alternative to the Assistant - EzAdmin. Its a Window-based programming interface for this switch.

We recently met with a school who's vendor went out of business. They have a cortelco Millennium 32, which we have not a clue how to approach.

Following a storm, some digital and analog station have significant static, and what appears to be a ground hum. CO lines check fine @ Demarc.

Any manuals, or ideas where to look would be great. We support their IT services, but usually work with Nortel or Avaya in voice land. Being a school, we are trying to help them out, without getting in over our heads!

'Millennium 32' also known as the Millennium Compact, which is the flat-pack version of this switch. It has a motherboard and a small card-cage to accept up to eight boards?

Unfortunatly by the nature of a flat pack, when things go bad parts can't be switched out. Often the whole thing would have to be repaired/replaced.

Bad static system-wide could be things such as the power supply, a single bad interface card, motherboard, bus terminator, etc.

'Static' in a 4-wire ISDN phone is often actually line signal errors due to a bad line cord or problems in the wiring.

I'll see if I have a .pdf manual for the compact. Good luck!

DW-- Thanks so much for the quick response. The backplane on the installed system looks to have 5 smaller motherboards with a ribbon cable connecting each one. The small card frame (as you mentioned) runs down the right side, and has about 14 cards total. As mentioned, we know nothing about this system.

The power supply was a good thought we overlooked. May see if we can find a quick swap for that. If you have the manual, or directions on obtaining one, that would be great.

Any Avaya questions-- certainly forward them my way!!

Thanks again!

Yeah, thats the Millennium Compact. Sounds like what you have has been expanded to 64 ports (vs. 1024 ports for the full version).

The problem with the Compact is it is hardware is different from the full version Millennium. Early versions (early to mid 90's) were very problematic. The power supply on the Compact is integrated into the motherboard unfortunately.

Hardware issues aside, the Compact shares the power and flexibility of the Millennium and can be a great solution for any installation.

I just hauled one of the compacts to the landfill. I could not find anyone interested in taking it off my hands.

Hey Mark,

I stumbled into this forum doing a Google search looking for parts for one of those beasts. Next time, drop me a line and save the gas.
Seriously, I got involved with this equipment against my will but after a few years, I liked it. It works well if you install it right and think before you program.

No matter how cynical I am, I just can't seem to keep up!
