Has anyone been having problems with Flexicom 200 (Coral SL)cabinets recently, we have had to replace upto 10 Base cabinets in the past 2 months, these all relate to installations during this time. We reckon it is a backplane issue and were wondering if anyone has come accross similar problems, Tadiran have been unable to isolate this fault as yet.

what about the power supply?
You aware of that issue? older ones will turn off but not always turn back on or stay on?
No issues with the SL. Doing mostly 400s now anyway

The Coral SL power supply issue we are aware of relates to a component in the start up circuitry which fails or drys out and after being switched off is unable to restart. That is not the issue in this case, the fault usually appears 2 to 3 weeks after installation & causes keysets to refresh constantly, the only cure is to replace the cabinet. Doesn't seem to matter what card configuration is used in other slots, as I say we are guessing a backplane or MB chip problem!

One question, where are you getting these SL's? The SL isn't made anymore or is this just an expansion of an existing system? ONe thing to check is the bus switched and make SURE they are flipped in the proper settings...and I mean fplip them a couple times REAL GOOD to make sure they make good contact or the the cabenet won't work well. Also, you HAVE to have a ground on the whole system. I have run into a bad backplane once in all the years we have been installing but, it's not outa the realm of possibility. The other things to check are the tail cables seated all the way and the expansion cables.

Coral SLs are very much alive & well but are branded as Flexicom 200's on this side of the pond, they are supplied direct fom Tadiran & are operating on latest s/ware version 14.67.xx & will accept iPX 500 station cards in slots 1 to 3 which offers more extn capacity than previously available.

I can't say I have had any problems with the SLs either other than the power supply issue

Hi, all!
I have just encountered a problem with FlexiCom 200 (base cabinet + expansion cabinet), MCP-IPx2 + IMC8, software 14.66.24.
Some SLT's and keyset suddenly stopped working (no dialtone after lifting handset). The configuration and programming was extremely standard, no tricks at all. The problem was fixed after changing motherboard issue 5 to issue 6 (or, maybe, it is better to say: for a week after changing MB I have no problems).
By the way, another problem is still unfixed. The problem is that 24SLS cards (software 4.13, layout E) do not work properly in expansion cabinet in above mentioned configuration. I had to use cards 24SLS layout D with software 3.03 and 1.24 instead.
This is my first problem with FlexiCom 200, earlier specimen of SL & FlexiCom 200 work without bugs.
I've heard Tadiran will stop further development of FlexiCom 200, and software version 15 would not run on this hardware.

Tadiran have told us that there were some known problems with MB issue 5, however the problems we experienced with Flexsets resetting is occuring on systems with issue 6 MBs. Tadiran are curently running tests on this equipment.
We have encountered various problems (SLT ports losing dial tone & only returning by dialing affected extn or resetting card) with version 14.66.xx when using Directory feature & Tadiran have recommended upgrading to V.14.67.xx to resolve, which it seems to have done.
