I inherited several customers with Seimens Hicom systems. My company used to be an authourized dealer, but since we no longer sell > $500,000.00/yr of Seimens, they no longer support us nor their customers. I am very soured on them and try frewquently to persuade these customers to buy one of the other manufacturers that we are authorized dealers for. Now that I have vented, does anyone know how/where to get the displays repaired on the Optiset display phones. EVERY system that I look at has the majority of phones with broken/distorted displays. Everybody talks about how much they hate not being able to see the characters, but it's tough to get these sets out of the customers' cold, dead fingers. Any suggestions?

I am not sure where to send them off the top of my head....but I have to say that I have never seen a LCD screen on a Siemens go bad. I have seen a few that were out of the box bad, but not ones that have been in the field. Do not get me wrong, I am sure it happens, I have just not seen it yet.
Have they tried Siemens direct? I find it difficult to believe that Siemens would not support them if they asked. I am sure that they cost more than your company, but it is an option for support on the HiCom systems. I have not seen Siemens leave a customer out to dry if the customer wants their help, albeit they will pay for the help.

The problem is with the OptiPoint phones there was a bad lot manufactured and Siemens was replacing these phones however they are no longer replacing them because the warranty is up on them. We have been ordering just the LCD's and replacing the defective one's ourselves. There are 6 torx head screws to remove to get the phone apart and the LCD is connected to the main board by a ribbon cable. I can get both Mangan and Arctic LCD's if you want to buy some and replace them yourself. I have not seen the problem with the Optiset phones.
