We've got a 680 system setup, with our 0)/operator extension forwarding to 201...But when no one answers, they get the operator mailbox instead of 201's box. This I could deal with, except it just says "the mailbox is full please try back again later" and I don't think it really is. We've reset the extension to purget the mailbox with no luck. When I try and change the greeting for the operator voicemail it gives me a message that the mailbox is full and it's unable to change the greeting message. So anytime a call reaches the default mailbox they get this unfreindly message that says it's full and dead ends.

Also.. What's the DIMM slot for under the plastic cover on the main unit??

The only "slot" that I can remember is the one for the "voice vault." The Voice Vault allows the system to have 15 virtual stations and 2 or 4 hours of recording time. Other than that there are jacks for telephones, expansion ports (which include the network port and expansion ports), power fail, telephone lines, and audio in/out.

As for your issues, I would first ask how many messages are in that box? It could be full, try emptying some out and see if that changes the message you get when it picks up.

No, above the card slot. There is a plastic cover removable with one screw. Underneath is the clock battery and a single so dimm slot. Not sure if there is supposed to be empty, or if there is supposed to be something there and someone removed it before selling it to me...

The mailbox is empty, it was reset. Anytime I try and make changes to the operator mailbox it gives me a "sorry this mailbox is full" error, regardless of what I'm doing with it.

Easiest way that I can think to stop the problem: Kill the problem extension and use another port if you have one available....other than that I am not sure, I have not seen that before, but we do not work on them that often anymore.

Powered off unit and then turned it back on, all the sudden we can make changes to the operator voicemail. Who knows. Still wonder what the DIMM slot is for....As well as what makes a CF card into a $400 "voice vault".

I checked out what you were refering to. I found a old Bizfon 680 in our warehouse and opened it up to check it out. I found the battery that you were talking about AND a slot for RAM, looks like maybe PC 100 type RAM. If I remember correctly now when they first started shipping units they came with the RAM slot for "future use", but I do not think newer cabinets have them. I do not believe that the slots were ever utilized, hence the lack of them on newer cabinets.

So I bought one on eBay thinking I could simple dupe it to a spare CF card and then sell it back. Yes, it's a bit sneaky.

Anyway, I got the voice vault card and plugged it into my card reader. Nada. Nothing. It doesn't recognize the card at all. I try it in my digital camera. Nothing. I try it in my laptop PC Card adapter. Nothing again. I plug it into the Bizfon and it works great!

So then I tried a regular CF card and it doesn't work at all in the Bizfon. The light comes on, but the system doesn't recognize it.

There's _something_ about the VoiceVault card that is not your run of the mill CF card. No idea what it is, but it's proprietary and not easily duplicated that I am aware of.

I have the same problem. The 201 Biztouch 3 handset used to display how many messages were in the operator mailbox, in addition to the extension 201 messages. But now it just displays the ext 201 messages. When I check voice mail for the operator it says "mailbox full" with 40 messages. I tried unplugging the control unit and plugging it back in and the problem persists. Anybody have a solution?
