Could anyone help me with the following. I recently redid the cabling at a local hotel. The cable records have never been updated.
The system is an Aria GDK 186 paired to a GDK 162 Hybrid. I was using an older version LDK phone to ID the lines on the system. The only phone in the hotel with a digital display was the reception phone. I'd unplug the phone and plug in the LDK 30 button phone to see which station I was on. This worked on all of the extensions.
Here's the problem. I got to the reception phone, and it had three 48 button digital consoles attached to it. I unplugged the first console and plugged it into the LDK phone. It ID'd as station 179, the reception phone is 100. When I plugged the console back it, it didn't work?
I assume that when I plugged the 30 button phone into the socket to ID the line the station lost it programming. I have the programming and installation manuals for the system, but they do not mention the digital consoles. Could you please explain to me how to reactivate the console I screwed up?

You have to go to station Id ( pgm 13) and set first dss with map 1 second with map 2 and third one with map 3 plus extension 100 as assigned ext in each dss entry

I tried this, the first thing the system is looking for is a station range. There are three DSS's hooked up to station 100. The one I screwed up was station 179. I really don't want to unplug the other two to find out their station numbers.
The hotel ordered the cabling. I put in what they ordered. They didn't figure the reception phone taking up four outlets. So we are going to leave it like it is. I won't have to mess with the other three, I just have to get this one going.
Thank you for the reply.

Oh, one more question. How do I know which DSS is one, two, or three?
Thanks again,

The station range is 179179 the same extension no twice.
Chances are that the 3 dss are in order ie dss 1 179 dss 2 180 etc
Try using those ranges 180180 or 178178 etc in pgm 13 and dss 1 will have line 2 light lighting dss 2 line 3 will light and dss 3 will have line 4 lighting when you find the 2 dss that are working the 179 ext will be the one you knocked out.

Thank you very much! I went by there yesterday to swap over their computer network to the new cabling. I restored the DSS with your instructions. Thank you for your help.

I'm glad that we got some international assistance on that one. This system hasn't been released in the US by Vodavi/Vertical as the SBX yet. None of us really has any experience with it.

That's what I was thinking, I'd like to know what the folks on the other side of the pond think of it before it gets here.

Chemster, Glad it worked out for you, Ed and Mark K. That LG GDK 160 is here for about 7-8 years. it has now merged with Nortel and have a new range again. I was doing goldstar systems about 15 years ago and it then became LG. the programing ways like the panasonic have stayed much the same as the old goldstar 816 analouge unit. Nice equippment but dont like the new phones, they look like the old units. I liked the ldk 30 models.
Do Panasonic and siemens now but look after 1 or 2 LG systems still
