I have a NEC item with th efollowing info.
NEC
NEAX2400 DT 001A
SP232 A 03A
The item is in a box measures 12 inches by 6 inches. one side it has NEC DATA MODULE, with 4 lights pow, ope,ic,rdy.
the other side it has FE POW POW LINE and CN.
WHAT IS THIS USED FOR? where can i get more info on this item/

1. DESCRIPTION
The DT-001A Data Module - Async/Sync. (DM) is equipped with an RS-232C port. The data terminal (DTE) connects
to this port by a cable, and transmits to the NEAX2400 IMS via the cable accommodating the DM.
The DM serves as an interface for the DTE, enabling communication with other DTEs accommodated by the
NEAX2400 IMS, at speeds of up to 19.2 kbps*, asynchronous or synchronous, and interfacing via DM or Dterm/Data
Adapter. The DM also allows access to modem trunks. Modem trunks enable the DTE to transmit and receive signals
over analog central office lines. Modem trunks also enable the DTE to communicate via the DM with other DTEs
accommodated by the NEAX2400 IMS, which interface via modem-telephone and/or analog trunk.
* If a speed of 19.2 kbps is to be used, check with NEC Engineering Dept.
