I have had a recent experience where i had to set the IP-PAD to auto negotiate. We have always been told in training to set it to the required speed i.e 10mb or 100mb.
It resolved a problem of packets being dropped.Just wondering what the general opinion is. Auto or 10/100.

I've always been instructed to use auto. I've never tried any other setting.
