Ok so I am getting frustrated with this phone system, and sorry to have to keep posting here, but the problems never seem to cease.
For those of you following along, I installed a Electra 192 2 weeks ago, got it installed, and it seemed to work, however every now again when people would go to grab a line it would just "screech" at them. Sometimes unplugging the phone and plugging it back in would work, other times it would not. I changed out the ESI8 cards, and eventually changed out the system thinking the back plane was bad.
The CPU was not changed, because I did not want to lose the programming.
This was done three days ago, and since then there have not been any problems until today.
At this point the cpu change seems to be one of my last options, the screeching seems to have stopped for the time being, however now the customer complains calls are dropping off now, Outgoing and incoming, I don't have any idea what could be causing all of these issues, and since I have changed out so much of the phone system I am just at a loss....
The only other thing I can think of that could be causing this is a short in the cable to the ports, but why did it wait three days to happen?
Any ideas or suggestions appreciated. TIA Tom

i'm at a loss too. the screeching when grabbing a line could be either the coi or the esi cards. i would have changed the cards out 1 by 1 to determine which card(s) ti was instead of doing them all at once (you might not have had the luxury of time to do that tho)
