Helping where we can for a computer customer who has an IVS 2000 (not one we typically service). Anyway, they have an Analog user that is to get a Digital set. After I cross-connect them to a digital port, how can I let the user keep the extension number they had on the analog port?

I'm afraid it's not that simple. The digital will require programming as they don't just work by default and there are a number of commands that will need to be addressed. However once you have it working it is fairly straight forward to swap numbers. If you have Matworks you can copy the settings of one extension to another but don't try to copy the analogue settings to the digital port. once you have it set up you simply go into moc mode and assign another number to the analogue port and then give that number to the digital using command 10. If you are that new to these you will need to note that digital extensions are prefixed with "F" when programming them in cmd 10. As there are so many areas that this needs to be updated in I would recommend getting someone who knows what they are doing to show you through all the bits you need to check or change, examples are hunt groups, UCD groups, call pickup groups, a large number of the 12xx commands, line appearances on other Dterms, Memory dial allocation and extension names to name a few.

If you must try to do this let us know and we will try to help and be more specific.
