I cannot seem to program slot 7 or 8 as a COID card in a Electra 192 PBX. I can however do so in slots 1-3. Having said that, the line keys no longer have dial tone.

By changing a primary analog card to a new slot what is involved in programming?
- Configuration of slot?
- Reconfiguring trunk groups?
- Port numbers?

Please help,

i'm guessing you went to 7-1 & tried to assign the card?! there is a limit to the amount of trunks you can have on a 192 (can't remember off the top of my head). if you are over that limit the system won't let you assign the card in 7-1

by moving a card to a different slot & wanting the lines on that card moved too means you would have to re-jumper the lines to different places on the amp cable.

configuration of slot=y program 7-1
reconfigure trunk group=y program 3-03
port number=n system will assign the trunk numbers automatically

As an additional note to what Chris has already said, check to see what software your system is running on.

If I recall correctly, up to S6000 all of your trunk cards have to be in slot 1 to 3, while S8000 and above allows your trunk cards to be in any of the slots.

That maybe for COID cards, but the COI8 cards were in slot 7 and 8 working nicely.

Yes, after further discussions, we discovered the COID card must be in slots 1-3.
