Hi all,
I am having a couple of issues with an Elite 192 system that I just started working on. I have worked on other phone systems, but this is my first NEC.
1. One customized voicemail message is having an automated message appended to the end. The user's message is heard first, then a second automated message is heard before a voicemail can be left.
2. An extension is not ringing at all for internal or external incoming calls. I have checked the 4-01 and 02 memory blocks and a host of other settings. They all appear right to me when compared to other extension programming. I have switched the DTs to ensure that it is not a problem with the terminal itself. I am assuming that some type of DND is set somewhere in the system, but I took off any DND settings with the user settings... didn't help...
3. I have two extensions that will ring when dialing the operator instead of sending an internal page tone with auto pickup for the operator. I can't find where to set this.
Any help is greatly appreciated. I have been programming phone systems for 8 years from Central Office to key systems, but these problems have me stumped. I have a programming manual, but no concessions software or SAT on my laptop (it's Linux).

1. is the vmail box a transaction box or interview box?
2. check 4-11 for ringing line preference, turn it to yes, maybe that is your problem
3. how are u dialing the operator, with 0 or dialing the extension?

thanks for answering bigc,
1. Transaction or interview... I am not sure what you mean here... I'll check the pack fill and tell you which FMS or VMS ETU is installed.
2. I did check the 4-11 and it is set to yes. The CO/PBX lines do light up as do the extensions. The phone also answers the internal call automatically, it just does not ring.
3. I am unsure of that, I will check the key to see how it is programmed. Would a difference in Zones have anything to do with this? I assume the 0 would ring rather than tone and answer... I did not check this, and that could be the problem.

1. can u tell me how u get to this mailbox thru the vmail
2. do u have anything in 3-42, 3-43 programmed
3. u may have a car key(call arrival or sie key when they dial 0) or they may have an sie key on those 2 extensions of the operator's ext.

This post is unrelated to the above, but does anyone have name templates for the phone numbering, naming that I could buy. I need: 12 for DTU-32D-2 1 for DCU-60-1 console 1 DTU-16D-2 for this same NEC system.

How embarrassing.
The phone that was not ringing had its ringing volume turned way down.
I just reprogrammed the keys to dial "0" instead of the operator extension number - Thanks for the suggestion. Took care of the ring vs. tone thing.
The last is the phantom voice after the recorded message. The only voicemail box that is having this issue is the operator voicemail - voicemail for the general mailbox - extension 3070. Access is from the operator DTU. When you play the greeting, the normal greeting is heard, but an outside caller will hear an additional message after the recorded message.

the operator's mailbox, when they check their messages does it say that the message is coming from another mbox, if so this is a transaction mbox or an interview mbox. listen to it and see. or is the operators extension 3070.

The operator's extension is 3070. When the message is checked it does not say that the call is coming from another mbox. This is the main incoming voicemail and it only does it for the daytime message. The night message is fine, and the holiday message is also fine. So this only occurs on the default message if no other options are chosen.
