Paul I am pretty sure it is a DBS because that is what the other vendor does. I'm not sure what the VM is. You are probably correct. I'm going to try to take a peek next week on a drive by.

Why not simply give the business hours in their greeting? I think it's a tempest in a teacup. I mean, is there a point to it or they simply don't want people zero'ing out in a vain attept to reach them? I mean it's a nice feature but whats the point of it?

By now if you gave this lawyer back his Panasonic voice mail system he would scream to return his Intra mail.

It's the first time I have run into this type of request. I have told my customer that the feature is currently not available but should it ever come along I would upgrade the system for him. I think it is a good feature. Everyone could have a day greeting and a night greeting that automatically goes on. You would never have to think about it. Even if you are out of the office for a few days. It gives the appearance that you are in the office. Hey, the customer is always right. Isn't that so?

All the Panny VM's do this. -4 and later KXTD and TA and all TDA, they change with the push of the nite button. They also have a nite , lunch and break setting that controls the AA greetings and menues.

Lot of customers want this. It gets rid of confusion. Law firms, service biz, etc. Depend on the business. I call in and dial reps ext, I hear "Hi this is Jerry, you have reached me after business hours, you may leave a message for me and I will return it the next business day. If you have an emergency please hang up and call xxx-xxx-xxxx, or if you just have a quick question for me press 1 to try my cell phone. Thanks for calling." If using AA for front end users should have busy greeting also, so that when the AA puts them in que, the caller hears a personal note that I am on the phone, to hold or leave a mesg, I promise to call right back if you leave msg. Nothing wrong with setting up your voice mail in a professional manner.

Those are nice features. I hope there is a chance that IntraMail will incorporate these. I would think that if NEC wants to remain on the cutting edge it would be a good idea to incorporate these features. One of the office people told me that they also used the busy feature with their old system. When they bought the DS-2000 / IntraMail from me they just assumed that these features were in the package.
