I have a VoIP link up between two sites. The new site wants to use the voicemail on the main site and they want to use DID numbers as well. Because of the VoIP configuration, the numbering plan for the new site doesnt fit into the DID block of numbers. I havent checked on ordering a new block to match the new site because I dont kow if DID would traverse the IP link anyway. So what I was thinking was creating CAR keys on the main site with DID numbers ringing them, DITing the CAR keys to extensions over the IP link. The only problem is that the voicemails will default to the CAR key box number (there wont be a box for the number so people will just hear the main greeting). I could make boxes for the CAR keys and have them notify the extensions across the IP link, but then people would have to manage and check 2 mailboxes. That would be a pain. Anyone have any good ideas?

I assume your talking of an Elite IPK with KCCIS between sites??
If so what is wrong with using DID translataion tables to route the calls from site 1 to site 2?? Most sites here don't have incoming DID numbers matching the station numbers.. Regarding voicemail. When the callers call the mail on the main site they will simply log in to their mailbox as if they were on the main site. The only thing is they will have no Dterm softkey operation..
If you not using KCCIS then you may have problems..

Your right. Today I set up some unused numbers and simply added the off premis extension numbers. Worked just fine. I suppose I expected the worst since the rest of the job has been a nightmare.
