NEC 2400ipx. We are having all kinds of problems with out equipment. Our stuff keeps locking up. We've lost Qworks a few times, we,ve lost connection to the PBX and our MGPRIs keep dropping. When we monitor the CPU usage it shows 100% on the PBX for extended times, as well as on the Qworks server's. It doesn't seem to be dependant on call load or calls in que. We lost in on Monday with over 120 calls and aboyt 60 in queworks but it happened again this morning with only 20 calls total. They are also independant of eachother. We'll lose Qworks one time then the PBX will freeze and have to do a stave 3 reset.
We've had techs ourt here for a month now and Dallas and Japan are monitoring the equipment and no fix yet. It seems to me like the kind of dammage that a virus will do or use up all the processor?
Anyone else ever have this kind of problem before? I'm getting tired of turning around on my way home to reset this crap.

If Japan don't have the answer I doubt anyone here will. Insist it gets replaced if it is new or still under warranty.

This started when we installed the IP equipment. The starange thing is that it happens independantly of each other. The Qworks box will go down when we get really loaded but also sometime for no other reason but it's running at 100% processor capacity. The PBX has done it fewer times and load doesn't seem to have any affect. The PBX will run at 100% for a day or so then crash? I think we should load a anti virus onto the box?

What operating system are these boxes on?

What is your RAM memory usage % when the processor is at 100%?

Qworks has 2000server, the PBX has it's data base obviously. Havn't checked RAM useage on the server, however like I stated it is happening on the PBX as well, so I don't think it's a RAM issue????

I could write a book on how to get your server in shape, but let’s keep it simple. First of all, if you don’t already have an antivirus and antispyware program installed on it, you MUST do this immediately. Please PM me if you want to know the brand I currently prefer. I do not want to promote products online.

I will ask you again: when your Windows Server CPU is going at 100%, what is your total physical memory and your available physical memory? This is important because if you are out of physical memory, then the system will start paging. That in itself can cause your CPU to go to 100%.

Also, when your CPU is at 100%, what process is hogging the CPU?

You can answer both these questions by just pressing CTL-ALT-Del and looking at the task manager.

I'm going to have to look. Unfortunatly since I'm the new guy, and we've got 30 year vets in there looking at it, I have to look over the shoulder and try to pick up what I can. Task manager is running, but it's not always easy to monitor since there is no warning as to when we will crash. I don't know why the heck they don't have an anti virus on the server, and I've sugested it several times.
Just keep the sugestions comming and I'll keep relaying them to the team. Strange that Dallas or Japan hasn't figured anything out yet.
