Hey,
Was wondering if someone else might be experienced with this phone system. We have an eight port VM card that we replaced in June, 2006 due to lightening. It's out again today; 12/4/06.(no explanation) Of course, the company we purchased it through offers a 90 day warranty that has expired. Has anyone else had this type of experience or problems with these boards?

what exactly is it doing? did you have some sort of power surge? brownout?
if you take the front cover off of your system. looking at the front edge of the voicemail card. what lights are on?
i'm looking for the bclr light really. what color is it? green? yellow? red?
there also is another led that blinks to the heartbeat of the processor. is it blinking?
_________________________________________ if it is green it should be working.
if it is yellow it may be working but there is a problem.
if it is red then there is a problem. ___________________________________________
you might be able to switch off the voicemail (little black switch on the vm card) for a few seconds then switch it back on to se if it comes back up (looking for the green bclr led)
i wouldn't think the card is bad. it might just need a technician to do some tlc on it (database check, scandisk, defrag)

Do you know if your system has lighting protection?
When you open the front cover you will also see batteries, do you know if they are still good?
These questions plus the ones above are good reason to call in a qualified tech.
I do know Ohio was hit by the same storm that came through St.Louis at the end of last week. Maybe this storm caused power outages and brown outs to your building.

Wow! Great response - thank you all,
First, all lights are RED - I've rebooted the phone system/VM system - Have also moved the little black switch on the card - no changes
The VM System is a VMP
Battery appears to be fine. We did get a lot of wind/rain on Friday. I'm not sure when the system went down. Of course, didn't realize until Monday morning.
Looking at replacing the board at the moment.
Also have the system on a UPS so it should be protected.
We had a rep in yesterday, he just wasn't really familiar with this system. I was hoping to find the 'miracle' answer myself.
Thanks again. If you can think of anything else, please post.

if your local tech has the co-sessions software they could try to run the stuff above.
or as an alternitve............if you had a CF reader. you could turn of the vm. pop out the CF card & put it into your reader. run scandisk, & a defrag. but to run the database stuff the card has to be in the system.
