Hello. I'm trying to see if I can restrict one trunk group from Long Distance dialing, while allowing another trunk group to make Long Distance calls. All stations use both trunk groups, they dial 8 for Long Distance calls (T-1) and dial 9 for local calls (analog CO lines). I tried to read the Code Restriction section of the manual and got dizzy. Any help would be welcome.

I'm not sure you can do this. Restrictions are based upon digits dialed & you place a phone in the COS that matches what you want to allow. I don't think you can set different restrictions based on trunk groups. Simply meaning if you deny 1+ for a station, all 1+ will be blocked even if you are using a different trunk group.

I think you can do this through Least Cost Routing. This requires some additional cards and programming but it would solve your problem.

you will need an mifm card and a kmm chip to do the least cost routing.

Thanks again for the info. I went ahead and advised the customer to have their telco provider block LD calls on their lines.
But, he does have a MIF card and he is using SMDR. Does that mean he has a KMM chip?

maybe, but the kmm chip is really used for caller id scrolling as well as LCR.

You might try using the ARS on the Elite 192, you won't need any additional hardware & you get 4 routes.
